Penny's Biggest Surprise

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone is doing great. I want to share some of my own experience in this post when working on a quite creative and additionally exciting project, and it is, in fact, a sound-rich story podcast.

For the purposes of this task, my friend Gülşen and I both create a sound-rich story podcast. With storytelling and also audio effects, there was a combination for the aim of creating an engaging listening experience. To bring the story to life, our podcast follows a short fictional narrative improved with background music as well as sound effects that match the scenes such as wind blowing, children laughing etc.

The completion of this very task was quite enjoyable. The process also posed large difficulties. Initially, we greatly struggled to come up with a truly compelling story idea for an audio format. Since we finalized the idea, therefore writing the script was in fact easier. However, syncing the totality of sound effects during the course of the editing phase did take a large amount of time as well as precision. It took a lot of time but it wasn't that hard for me because I used to do edits for series, movies or celebrities. On the other hand recording was a certain mix of definite fun and inevitable stress. It was in particular stressful for us when we had to go and re-record lines for the sake of better clarity or a stronger emotion. We were proud of the final result and, overall, it was a great learning experience for us.

I would most assuredly consider giving creating podcast task to my students. Creativity and also collaboration are both encouraged, and also language skills are further improved in such a unique way. Listening, speaking, and writing skills are combined together in a single activity, which means that such is the main advantage. Technical difficulties could be a possible disadvantage, as students can overcome them with support.
